How do I make a small honeycomb swatch pattern in Illustrator?

hi all

 

i want make small honeycomb swatch pattern (the polygons should small  - 2 px x 2px) , cannot work. did make 1 small polygon, , went to: object>pattern>make

and applied following settings:

 

see images:

this how looks.

 

you see on shoulder of t-shirt, pattern kinda trasparent - bottom layer visible-i don't want be.

 

the bottom pattern(on side of t-shirt) see came out fine, except polygons big , cannot smaller - how do that?

 

any appreciated!

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
