I want to delete all transparent pixels, how can I? CS6

i delete transparent pixels surrounding irregularly (non-square) image.  trim function trims square surrounding image , not edge of image itself.  there work around this?  have looked around , haven't found one.

thanks,

jb

image have rectangular area have width , height boundaries layer.  not of rectangular area need have content or opaque,  image boundary rectangle.  file formats photoshop background layer not support empty area or transparency file formats contain image rectangles , have no transparency. file formats support transparency , empty areas images can shape , contain transparency still image boundary rectangular. there gif file format oddball format. supports 256 colors. pixels mapped 1 of 256 colors selected image.  if want transparency in gif  number of colors reduced 1 255  256 color indicate no content not real transparency no color pixel in other words off or no content.

so if have areas 100% transparent there nothing delete area empty.  if have pixels contain transparency , delete pixels delete details sure want delete pixels contain transparency? loose things drop shadows
