followed advice download problems. downloaded , used adobe flash uninstaller.

attempting install adobe flash player 11.7.700.169 (16.1 mb)
your system: windows 32-bit , english, msie
windows vista home premium sp2
msie version 9.0.8112.16421
other browser firefox 13.01.1
java current , enabled.

repeatedly attempt run install_flashplayer11x32ax_gtbd_chrd_dn_aih.exe (2.03 mb) during past 2 weeks.

obtain following error message adobe flash player

only single instance of application can run

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
