Thread: Can't figure out how to use Alsa loopback driver to record audio

i'm trying record audio comes speakers sound card doesn't have "stereo mix" option. told accomplish alsa loopback driver, don't know how work. loaded sudo modprobe snd-aloop
don't know after that. when try testing audacity can't record audio. , when try configure loopback in alsa mixer says "this sound device not have controls."

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
