Thread: Crystalhd, Adobe Flash 11.1, and Ubuntu 11.10

i'm trying figure out how acceleration decoding video working crystalhd decoder card. supports 720p , 1020p video. need 720p can watch hulu in hi def.

have compiled , installed crystalhd. dmesg shows loaded. have adobe flash 11.1 64 bit, , ubuntu 11.10 64 bit.

added following lines /etc/adobe/mms.cfg file: enablelinuxhwvideodecode=1 overridegpuvalidation=true yet still appears adobe flash content not being accelerated. rebooted, tried modprobe crystalhd, , forth. adobe flash 11.1 64 bit suppose have support crystalhd in linux! others have said have gotten working.

why can't i?

see crystalhd in dmesg.

have no idea how tell if adobe's flash player taking advantage of decoder card either.

provide output of dmesg | grep crystalhd, please?

programs have tried? totem, guess? use totem crystalhd acceleration need compile gstreamer plugin.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
