Thread: How to search file content in gui

i tried searching files in desktop version of ubuntu 11.10 based on content , realized didn't know how in gui. command line, no problem.

when tried using nautilus search file content discovered searches in file's name, not content. have sworn have used gui tools search file content in ubuntu in past, maybe think of else.

so, went ubuntu online documentation , found instructions pertaining filename searches.

there no default gui tool/method in ubuntu 11.10 searching file content? i'm no stranger command line, doesn't people aren't familiar 'find' or 'grep'.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
