Thread: HP Printer loses connection

my hp officejet 6313 ethernet network connection via router loses connection time time.

happens every time when other computer on network switched on, in case connection re-established when networked machine switched off. happens when upgrades downloaded , last time happened no apparent reason.

system re-establishes connection @ stage, time staying dead.

has happened me on ubuntu 10.04, 10.10 , on 11.04.

there seems conflict between cups , hplip, , not know how these systems work together, if @ all.

has been ongoing source of frustration ever since started using ubuntu, there way out?

might related need static ip address printer, suspect have given connection dhcp. happened before gave our router connected hp machine static ip. still connected router, if remember correctly, change of ip meant other computers not find when trying print.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
