Thread: Installation fails

hey,

got new graphic card , tried fresh install linux mint (also tried opensuse , ubuntu).

tried:

new card:
insert linux mint cd
boot it
come instalation menu
click install
dos mode apears (the installation gets instalized?)
error apears after few seconds until hard reset:
udevd[137]: timeout: killing '/sbin/modprobe -bv pci:v000010ded00001244sv00003842sd00001556bc03sc00 i00


old card:
same above, without error , works.

old & new card:
install linux old card.
switch graphic cards.
linux wont start.

idea?

moved other os/distro talk.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
