Thread: Privacy while using workplace network

hi all,

have been reading bit how secure privacy while using public network. however, lost jargon , acronyms (e.g. lan, vpn, etc).

concise question is: if accessing internet workplace using personal computer, there anyway can prevent network provider/administrator track contents of material accessing? if so, can recommend me tutorial on how achieve this?

understand privacy , security not same thing. topic of new tread suppose.

use ubuntu 11.04 , happy it. preferred browser mozilla firefox.
