Thread: uid and gid are not resolved via ldap

hello there,
configured ldap server default settings on ubuntu 11.10 server machine.

while user creation , login works fine, have 1 issue when logging in ldap user:

if log in on client:
ls -l somefile
on file mounted via nfs shows following instead of user , group
-rw-rw-r-- 1 4294967294 4294967294 0 2012-01-02 16:36
apart that, have no problems in creating , reading these files, chown not work.

if same on server on ldap server runs , directory not mounted via nfs, works ok:
-rw-rw-r-- 1 test test 0 2012-01-02 16:36

server , clients have same /etc/pam.d/common-* files, , /etc/ldap.conf.

have hint causes problems when accesing files via nfs?

in advance help. let me know if need additional information.
johannes

how exports configured on server? pretty high uid , gid file permissions.
