qt requires these files phonon backend libs. can not find them using sudo or software center.

libgstreamer0.10_0.10 gstreamer base library.

libgstreamer0.10_0.10-devel contains files developing applications gstreamer.

libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10 contains basic plugins audio , video playback, , enable support ogg files.

libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-devel makes possible develop applications using base plugins.

what ubuntu version using ?

in 11.10 you'll find

libgstreamer0.10.0
libgstreamer0.10-dev
libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-0
libgstreamer-plugins-base0.10-dev

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
