Elements quit working recently

i have vista machine (32 bit, sp2) , have run elements since 2008.  recently, photoshop elements 6.0 quit working.  apd app in tray still works, elements doesn't offer start after photos downloaded, nor run when trying start directly.  don't see in applications tab of task manager; never flashes , disappears, refuses run.  ideas?

start pse welcome screen.

 

hold down ctrl + shift keys , click organizer. keep holding down keys until see catalog window.

 

select catalog , click repair.  select “repair anyway” if pse doesn’t find problems.

 

then measure, click optimize.

 

if repairing resolves issue fine else repeat above steps, click new create new catalog.  if you’re able import photos new catalog , organizer works fine, problem can old catalog.

 

- try launching organizer directly exe admin rights.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
