LR 3 Import Folder Structure

i'm bit of newbie lightroom, although i've use pse many years.

 

i'm keeping photos in "sort of" date based structure, i.e 2013.04.28_event name

 

previously i'd copy photos camera card folder on hard drive , run catalog "import in place" lr find files. have upgraded canon 7d , thought i'd try "import card" function after weekend's shoot. had folders import to, in each case lr created sub folders under each of these "2013" , "2013.4.28". see other posts may default folder structure lr imposes. possible turn function off , import card directly folder of choice.

 

failing i'm faced prospect of moving files "root" sub-folder , re-cataloging, or going previous method of copy first (in explorer) , cataloging.

for photos have been imported lightroom "wrong" folders, can move them wherever want inside of lightroom, drag , drop.

 

for future imports, in import dialog box, specify folder photos supposed go into. on right side of import dialog, called destination panel.

 

or maybe should consider changing keyword based organizing, , these problems of photos being in wrong folder go away.
