Metadata Settings for Google and Other Search Engines

i having trouble making proper site title , description show correctly on google search. have filled out metadata correctly comes page name site if when use different page title name. , see no description though have filled in well.

note see in google reflects page contents last time google crawled website. if update site add metadata or change title, several days before google crawls site again , updates info.

if don't want wait long, can request google crawl site sooner:

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
