Thread: Help with cat command

i have number of 5 minute videos combining 1 longer video, , using cat command this, read alot faster. originally, avidemux advised, when started doing way, take 7 hours do. anyway, cat command running, apparently, how know if doing anything? have tried bring processes in terminal, doesn't show first terminal running. in original terminal, not showing '$', flashing cursor, appears doing something. there way of checking progress of project? thanks!

if aren't @ prompt, command running. how long takes depends on how big file , how fast machine is.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
