Thread: Laptop with external vertical monitor -- getting the workspace switcher to work bette

hi all,

santa claus gave me nice new vertical monitor plug laptop when i'm working home. works well, i've got couple of minor problems i'd fix. see screenshot below.

first problem can't see icons programs in workspace switcher.

second (related) problem system "thinks" there workspace in lower-left-hand corner, "below" laptop monitor. annoying because mouse, window, or icon can "get lost" down there.

i'd fix these things, don't know begin.

tips appreciated.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
