rationale
many novice ubuntu users tend fiddle various configurations on ubuntu , end causing machines hardly boot or start gui. common example things like, changing graphics driver or modifying display resolution, , on...

fix involves having run 1 command such removing xorg.conf file or running "dpkg-reconfigure gdm" rebuild defaults, mainstream, daunting.

rather formatting, reinstalling ubuntu, creating new username login with, or trying decipher error messages , commands, propose easier way reset system like-new state.

add system option deletes configuration files if system freshly installed , hardware/drivers , settings have been reset defaults.

allow user select aspects reset:

* reset graphics , display settings
* reset desktop environment , unity (x11, input devices)
* reset network (network manager , /etc/network/interfaces)
* reset language/localization
* reset audio drivers/settings
* etc...

windows 8 come option of resetting operating it's original / default state.

it pretty simple script write did auto backup of important config files , when things go crazy boot shell , type like

code:
$>restore-default-configs
and have script remove configs , replace them config-whatever.config.old
