Thread: Problem with ATI Graphics card - Video Tearing

hello,
noticed bought new graphics card, have radeon hd5450 , when watching video (full screen) see tearing @ top 1/4 of screen. looked around amd catalyst software on pc , found there option disable tearing (why option don't know because want video tearing default?)
problem still there have admit no near noticeable, can see when there loads of frames or flashes such intro song big bang theory.

can me rid of completely?

have ubuntu 11.10 latest ati driver installed, although there post release driver might work dose not install, fails...

allot reading , hope clever clogs can me out

32 or 64 bit ubuntu?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
