Thread: Ubuntu application tray missing

i'm novice ubuntu son loaded on wife's sony vaio laptop on year ago when had issues windows vista , has been working fine until recently.

month ago ubuntu started requesting wireless network authorization each login when did not in past. 2 days ago authentication request appear during session.

yesterday, accept key application tray on right wold not respond when click windows key. today wireless authentication process not accept key.

reload ubuntu application can't tray applications icon appear on right. top icons shut down, wireless , sound missing.

there way reset ubuntu dashboard/desktop normal?

which version of ubuntu on wife's laptop?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
