Is there an AE equivalent to Ai's "expand function"?

im placing multiple instances of composition composition b. i've applied various filters each instance of composition a. "expand" each instance of composition within compoistion b can alter each element seperately.

any pointers?

nope. have duplicate comps in project window make them independent or copy&paste contents. i'm sure there's un-precompose script on aescripts....

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
