Thread: Internet sharing / wireless failing

the wireless on laptop not working, because 1 of broadcom ones, , if i'm not mistaken, havent updated drivers new kernel (i run 11.10). broadcom 43224 wireless abgn adapter. tried methods in sticky broadcom wireless adapters, believe work pre gnome3 releases. or that, anyway.

basically, left using bad usb wireless adapter drops out time 1 room away. think easiest thing share wireless connection windows 7 laptop ubuntu one. have gone (under windows) network , sharing center > change adapter settings > wireless > properties > properties > sharing tab > tick both > settings > tick > ok > ok.
there setup need linux? linux laptop detects connected network, has no internet access (although did try pinging - ip of windows laptop works, nothing else does).

turns out on 11.10, needed follow instructions here:

http://www.broadcom.com/docs/linux_sta/readme.txt

however, couldn't start on startup

using 64 bit, if helps.
http://www.broadcom.com/support/802.11/linux_sta.php

ps. can start @ each boot using commands
code:
sudo insmod <path-to unpacked-tar>/wl.ko
in case moved path ~/.wless/wl.ko

if knows how run code elevated privelages @ boot time appreciated.
