Thread: Setting up tablet functions on Fujitsu t4215

i new linux, bear me if of questions seem basic or if need bit more average user.

have fujitsu t4215 that, until when ssd failed , disc got messed up, running windows vista. have ubuntu 11.10 running on , trying tablet functions working. pen works mouse (but not else), there no on screen keyboard use pen, screen not rotate, , function buttons not work.

have browsed through several forums , downloaded input-wacom-0.12.1 file , went through configure, make, , make install 0 issues. downloaded xf86-input-wacom-0.12.99.1 file, when configure gives me these messages: configure: error:

package requirements (xorg-server >= 1.7.0 xproto xext kbproto inputproto randrproto) not met:

no package 'xorg-server' found
no package 'xproto' found
no package 'xext' found
no package 'kbproto' found
no package 'inputproto' found
no package 'randrproto' found

consider adjusting pkg_config_path environment variable if you
installed software in non-standard prefix.

alternatively, may set environment variables xorg_cflags
, xorg_libs avoid need call pkg-config.

did search in file system , found file source_xorg-server.py in /usr/share/apport/package-hooks dunno if need else or what.


downloaded fjbtndrv-2.3.2 file function buttons, when tried configure file got following messages:

no package 'xrandr' found

guys can give appreciated. computer works fine normal laptop, want tablet set work too.

need libraries. see bamboopt how to or linux wacom how to. lines starting "sudo apt-get install build-essential libx11-dev...". believe fjbtndrv dependencies covered too. people install robert gerlach's ppa: https://launchpad.net/~khnz/+archive...filter=oneiric don't know why says "publishing has been disabled archive." or means.
