Thread: Upgrade 10.04 to 10.04.3 kills machine

i installed 10.04 live cd http://linuxcnc.org/index.php?option...emid=4&lang=en onto old functional gateway flexatxstc bro 600. worked ok. fitted lan card , checked still ok. ran update manager resulted in purple screen no menus or task bars working mouse pointer. ideas?

why did not download 10.04.3 cd iso , use start?
