aipref error because of work space / colour swatch library

hello,

 

i started working illustrator cs4. same gui when start it. found work spaces, works fine. want same color swatches (libraries), e.g. general rgb , general cmyk , 2 pantone libraries. put in work space , choose "same position" (=gleiche position in german, sorry don't know in in en) in context menu of color swatch options.

 

i guess these 2 thing should me in position can open new , existing files same work space , swatches?

 

problem: each time choose "same position" illustrator starts error message "preferences file damaged...(in german), replaced new one". deleted whole folder of illustrator preferences in appdata, backup files, restored , on. when make mentioned thing error.

 

>>> can't work space , swatches? how did - cs4 users - it? there hint aipref more "tolerant"?

i guess question special , concerning special case. @ least know (see first posting) if can save view (incl. swatches) @ in cs4 without error messages?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
