Can I sort pictures to see what is in a collection and what isn't?

upon importing pictures lightroom, create collection , put images want keep in collection. still leaves me images within original folder. there way can view pictures not used in collection still in folder can delete them?

items in collection have "collection badge", while items not in collection not have badge (assuming have turned on thumbnail badges via ctrl-j dialog box). thus, photos want delete should obvious.

 

alternatively, create smart collection in search photos whom collection name not contain e o u y
