Thread: 11.04 Invoicing/Accunting Programs

are there excellent invoicing accounting programs available ubuntu?

i'm afraid nothing compares sage in terms features functions , compatibility - after in uk uses sage. run under wine - though may have install odbc drivers after install. haven't used myself on linux, in previous job, did seem industry standard @ least here in uk , reviews online of under wine seem good.

in terms of open source, i've used gnucash on mac, it's not quite polished stable , linux/mac native... plus it's free - downside it's designed home/business use, not large business/server use. can payroll stuff on fine - admittedly played keep track of own wages, , it's been 2 years since had use regularly (no more money work me!) functional.

i'd gnucash, unless you've paid sage licence - of course use that... 1 problem had gnucash , sage used different fil formats - pain!, may have changed! may different are, mention sage because standard in uk - if else wasn't using it, wouldn't recommend - bit ms office - if libre office couldn't read msdocs, have recommend ms office on linux - can imagine?!
