Thread: Download and Save in Ubuntu

i have ubuntu 11.10 installed on pc.

trying down load qt4. in download dialog box, click on "save". nothing seems happen. nothing down loaded or saved. don't see new files in "download" folder. can down load other things , have been able down load , install other software terminal or down load sites. ubuntu save downloaded files default , how can change this?

have tried option show hidden files (just in case hidden)?
