Thread: Freeze On Boot - System Unresponsive

hi all,

have noticed every , again (regularly enough annoying) ubuntu 11.10 , linux mint 12 freeze on boot. kernels 3.0.0-12 , 3.0.0-14 both have same issue.

seems full lockup cannot switch tty ctrl+alt+f* keys , apparently way out hold down power button on computer.

believe using pretty generic hardware:
  • i3 530 cpu integrated graphics
  • asus p7h55-si motherboard
  • 4gb corsair xms3 ram
  • linksys wmp54g wireless adapter

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
