Thread: NTFS error, # Cannot open: Transport endpoint is not connected

sorry dig old thread, recieved error. making windows partition unusable in ubuntu.
others implying, there seem harddrive corruption. forced run chdsk on windows machine. ntfsfix found nothing.
chdsk found , fixed lot of errors, inputoutput error still occurs.

if try transfer or several files @ once. (copied directory , unarchived targz) after few files complete throws a
# cannot open: transport endpoint not connected
, i'm forced remount partition.

here's output of fdisk -l; cat /etc/fstab/; df -h

since i've had problems mounting permissions before.

try run fsck on linux partition see if comes up.
there fsck windows , ntfs partitions don't know about?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
