Thread: PPTP VPN server - LCP timeout

i have pptp vpn server on ubuntu server.

installed , configured pptpd doesn't work.
connection vpn outside impossible, lan works don't know if has meaning. way pptp authorized on router.

here's says server's log:
code:
pppd[31606]: using interface ppp0 pppd[31606]: connect: ppp0 <--> /dev/pts/1 pppd[31606]: lcp: timeout sending config-requests pppd[31606]: connection terminated. pppd[31606]: modem hangup
as can see, lcp timout.

strange thing first time configured of this, able connect vpn. trying access samba on lan lose access @ all. after "apt-get --purge remove pptpd" cannot work.

idea ?
if need more information ask me.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
