Thread: Routing bonjour from one network to another using NAT
hi all,
i've got following setup:
- 1 /16 network public ip addresses
- 2 /24 networks private ip addresses (10.0.0.0/24 , 10.0.1.0/24)
- 1 ubuntu server connected 3 networks, performing nat between public network , private networks.
on /16 public subnet, there devices (printers mostly) publishing using zeroconf/bonjour.
question if there way forward zeroconf information private subnets? first guess select 1 private ip on each subnet, each device i'd forward, , make act mirror real device. found this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1813472 suppose there should way when want explicitly configure 1 or more specific evices?
so, this: if there printer @ 1.2.3.4, select private ip, say, 10.0.0.200, , have traffic reaching nat router, including multicast, address forwarded 10.0.0.0/24 range, appearing if sent 10.0.0.200, , have traffic 10.0.0.200 forwarded ip 1.2.3.4.
possible solution, or there easier solution? , have no idea how go using iptables or that. suggestions!
any ideas?
