Thread: Ubuntu and android wireless tether

hey guys,

updated ubuntu 11.10 , have found computer won't wirelessly tether android (cm7 motorola milestone android 2.3.5). have hosted other devices , works, reason ubuntu keeps trying , trying, i've tried couple of wireless tether apps, i've tried through bluetooth, i've tried various settings (with/without security, ssid changes, different passwords, etc.) , don't know do/say there better network manager "nm-applet" complete reinstall of package make difference? possible install iso/usb? if breaks how can connect network wired/wirelessly (via terminal?) thoughts/alternatives? not imperative nice have work, has worked in past, not since updating 11.10, maybe little longer.

i've been scanning around looking bluetooth tethering evo 4g using foxfi app. in searches, found this.

it's little old, looks right, haven't tried yet.

i'll try , remember post update when do.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
