Thread: ubuntu lamp server or ubuntu with apache?

so web server should use ubuntu lamp server command line or regular ubuntu release installed packages , stuff?im on ubuntu server , face lots of problems rooting , ip's in lan think best?

it depends, if going sitting physically @ computer , feel need training wheels of gui, add web server regular ubuntu release.

may take little more started with, learning way around shell *very* worth effort. it's both powerful , flexible. can come here both simple questions , harder ones.

web server thinking of running apache (the #1 server) or nginx (the #2 server)? planning on getting started scripting perl/python/php right way or mastering static pages first?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
