Thread: Wake on Lan/Wan

hi i'm running ubuntu 10.10 box, , i'd turn on remotely (through internet).
setup box work , when send wol command within network, doesn't matter if pc has been off 5 minutes or 5 hours. when try send wol command outside network (cellphone's internet) pc turns on if it's been on (impossible time, works when try within 5 minutes of turning off).

issue is; why pc able wake-on-wan when it's been turned off. i'd able turn if on anywhere in world @ anytime not 5 minutes when it's been off.

mobo i'm using biostar ta890gxb-hd if helps or makes difference.

wake-on-lan not work outside local area network. can use router stepping stone , launch wol instead?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
