Is Adobe Captivate right for me?

*  me: beginner in terms of adobe products (other free a. reader).  first project ever using adobe creating course announcement template.  great way “jump in” , start learning.  don’t have formal training in art, layout/design, webpages, or computers, pick on things quickly.    have used search function, read through content on adobe.com, , watched adobe tv episodes.  goal real, live, professional advice adobe community.  adobe enthusiasts….please educate me.  (“hat tipped in direction”)     *   i'm college-level educator looking offer our students alternative methods learning/supplementing studies on own time.  students can’t make office hours , email questions.  write out complete descriptions, scan, & email…. incorporate more visual/technologically advanced options.  i’m designing (science & math) curriculum college’s tutoring center used "digital library".       *  friday (5/3/13):  didn’t have such great initial impression of adobe sales department, didn’t seem questions being addressed.  experience relate when working high-pressure, used car sales agent.  sorry stereotype.  after receiving call adobe’s social media rep.  (thank rani) address poor customer service/sales experience, called , spoke different sales agent polite , less aggressive (thank sarah).  recommended adobe capture.       *  please provide me thoughts.  if prefer include link save time, i’m happy too.     - programs should consider (in cc or other adobe programs…or option outside of adobe work alternative)?   - cost saving measures appreciative.  it’s typical “budget constraint” conversation.     - need account amount of time take learning program/technology accomplish goals (are expectations high part time summer project committing time of 8-10 hours per week).   - technology input have offer great.   - else forgetting.  please feel free step outside of tiny box , offer unbridled advice , suggestions.      *  adobe captivate (wish in cc) recommended following.  there other options tools in cc can avoid purchasing captivate?   goals are:   1.)    make screen capture type video way respond students email me questions.  simplicity purposes, khan academy seems quickest , easiest way respond digitally. http://www.khanacademy.org/science/chemistry   2.)    how of felt organized test review have been helpful before chemistry final.  not students able make scheduled reviews , feel bad students have work , can’t there.  make video of live test reviews, similar this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-xxsbg3yne   3.)    supplement students, “video learning series” them have access in tutoring center.  screen capture , mixed in video of terry white in corner (this ideal; adobe tv videos great format i’m afraid it’s going take professional skill-level come close that?? http://tv.adobe.com/watch/creative-suite-podcast-designers/how-to-get- started-with-adobe-muse-10-things-beginners-want-to-know/  - terry blogged how videos: http://terrywhite.com/i-use-screenflow/     *  website: muse (i feel pretty confident using program), since there exact tutorial of doing course website.  adobe)   *  print course material: (worksheets & study aids): indesign (and illustrator reproducible files textbook company)  *  video editing: told captivate has need (premier pro option cc)     *  current technology: dell studio laptop built in hd webcam, windows 7/64 bit, i5 processor, 2.4ghz, 4gb ram, 1tb external hd & separate 22” lcd screen  logitech c920 webcam, tripod, wacom bamboo capture (digital tablet: http://www.wacom.com/en/products/pen-tablets/bamboo/bamboo-capture          no lighting or green screen, microphone or audio hardware yet.  i’m on budget…but have quality video students won’t mind watching.       tutorial site learning:  wish adobe tv had “beginners series” programs.  if i’m looking basic “how videos” related captivate 6, want search earlier version software videos such entry level instruction?  there www.lynda.com     budget: can afford cc membership or adobe captivate (with discounts).  personal laptop have do; i’m pretty sure it’s better college issued machine anyway.     these qualifiers limit me much?  i’m not missing important, if so, please ask.     thank much! e
