Live Paint Bucket tool problem -> "Clipping paths are not allowed"; how to solve this issue?

hi,

i'm architecture student delft, netherlands , want take 2 3d views (autodesk) revit architecture 2012 illustrator cs5 , make use of live paint bucket tool*.  i've printed 2 3d views into pdf files , imported them in illustrator**. when select whole image in illustrator , click live paint bucket tool on drawing modify drawing can color surfaces, illustrator gives me following error:

"the selection contains objects cannot converted. live paint groups can contain paths , compound paths. clipping paths not allowed."

how can solve issue? exporting images (jpg, png , tiff) revit results in same error. there way convert vector drawing non-clipping paths drawing? i'm not sure if problem should found in either revit or illustrator. what's strange i'm using tutorial provided university, in there no issues clipping paths or anything.

hope can me, i've got deadline wednesday 8th of may 11.59 pm (gmt +1)

* this in order make conceptual image of building, i've modeled in revit. want add basic colors surfaces in illustrator , take image photoshop add shadow, materials, sky etc.

** consist of lines, using 'hidden line' visual style in views in revit, in case know bit of revit.

this error message can bit misleading. tells a) there in selection not path or compound path; , b) purposes of conversion, clipping path considered not path or compound path.  not imply there clipping path present cause conversion failure.

so don't spend time looking solution clipping path problem; (including not limited clipping path) not path or compound path.

peter
