Morphing help

hi, im trying morph circle 2 circles, , midpart attached picture. have tried importing .ai files , turning them shape layers, , copying path of midpart circle. when circle morphs, morphs strangely, flipping around axis , creating unnessacary corners... ive tried messing around adjusting first vertex same result. can try guide me?

 

all appreciated! kinda urgent...

 

impüossible specific without seeing actual mask/ shape layert paths. didn't take care make sure have same number of points , in same order. anyway, seems me whole approach needs changed. why not animate 1 half basic circle directly in ae, mirror e.g. using shape layer repeater or miorror effect? easier , ensure perfect symmetry without wasting time in illustrator...
