Problems installing flash player

my pc says need update flash player watch videos. have active x version 11.7.700.169 installed. using windows 7 internet explorer. if try reinstall flash player installs 50% says need close internet explorer. problem explorer isn't open. should flash player work properly. plugin version not installed. need have installed , if how do that?

see how close internet explorer , other programs running on windows?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
