Thread: Can't boot anymore.


hi there,

thought i'd give ubuntu go, managed screw up. had changed settings, decided re-install. didn't know how properly, went , wiped partition in windows, didn't i? clever. pc won't boot. keep getting "grub rescue," , i've tried using unetbootin run windows recovery iso usb; doesn't work. i've tried super grub disc; doesn't work. 2 options: "default," , "list devices / partitions." neither option when selected. pretty blue selection screen though. figure mbr needs fixed, can't pc recovery mode fix it! anyway, love forever if take time help. setup:

windows 7 x64,
dual booting ubuntu 11.10.
pc custom build, , *ahem* somehow don't have legit windows installation disc.

ubuntu install, see if can live cd running, choose "try ubuntu" on login screen , run gparted. make screenshot partitions , post here
