Thread: Entire System Is Borked

i've had these ongoing problems:

  • forgets wifi passwords after each use. have type them in again every time.
  • when @ edit connections, can't add, edit, or delete connections. when gksu edit connections app, can use normally.
  • every time load gmail, tells me cookies bad , must delete cookies continue.
  • when put usb memory stick computer, won't mount.
  • when click shut down, doesn't shut down. sends me login screen. when select shut down login screen, still doesn't shut down. way can figure out how shut down computer open terminal , sudo shutdown -h.


guessed there might problems user groups. tried edit them in users , groups application, when click on "change" nothing happens...

in short, system borked , can't mount external hard drive in order save files , reinstall. should do?

umm, version ubuntu? moment, because of see having trouble with, seems though using windows

haven't had these linux problems yet, other ones not windows alike problems. sorry mate. btw have sudo apt-get install update recently? well, system pretty screwed up, have tried rebooting, holding f8, clicking option 'repair broken packages'??

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
