Thread: error: input not supported

iso: ubuntu 11.10-desktop-amd64

new linux - have tried install dvd , usb - error is: input not supported. appears floating box on monitor.

having tried fedora, found problem video card. fedora provided option use basic graphics- managed install fedora using option. ubuntu has no comparable option. can't started.

how can overcome graphics card problem? i'm looking fedora provided; choice use basic graphics. would, presumably, download updates handle video card.

-------------------------------
using nomodeset did allow me install, booting drive put me started without choice select f6 nomodeset. choice solve has been use virtual machine - works. enough now. i'm trying experience linux , gets me there.

thank :
