Thread: Mobile internet dongle not recognised

guys

have got 3 mobile internet dongle. have seen several postings on internet pretty plug in , play, when connect it, nothing appears happen. have tried configuring using edit connections option, doesn't appear connect. tried using 'sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf' command suggested on forum, , doesn't appear seeing modem (which assume dongle is). i'm running ubuntu 11.10, have done nothing apart basic upgrade.

has got advice?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
