Thread: new guy - questions

i have 8+ year old hp 764n pent 4 2.66 ghz loaded 10.04 there reason change newer version, classic computer run newest version. new user, don't fancy basic web, tube, music (ipod) , shop cars , parts. have not been able od printer work, have checked driver have not found one. have 3 questions.
1. should newer version
2 wireless printer/all in 1 better otr stick usb
3. need advise wireless card internal slot type or usb type suggestions on type or model. upgraded fios

if it's not broke don't fix it! 10.04 lts current long-term support release (supported until april 2013) , if it's working ya i'd stick it.

if have room install newer version on partition tweak, experiment , play around with, , keep stable 10.04 lts right is.

have brother wireless printer , works treat ... printer has option of ethernet cable, usb or wireless ... whichever fancy using.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
