Thread: Unity "Keep in Launcher" stores files...where?

i'm trying figure out unity stores .desktop files when have application running in launcher , right-click , execute "keep in launcher". assumed go ~/.local/share/applications not. checked /usr/share/applications .desktop file not exist there either (which no surprise since user cannot write files there unless sudo). in heck file? must on disk somewhere (as opposed memory) because entry persistent after reboot.

yes, know can manually create .desktop files , drag them launcher (i have done many times), i'm curious unity puts files saved using "keep in launcher" icon. know?

it doesn't 'put' them anywhere, list maintained in gsettings, <whatever>.desktop .desktops, (apps) in /usr/share/applications & full path <whatever>.desktop .desktops installed & or stored elsewhere.

see current list run
code:
gsettings com.canonical.unity.launcher favorites
