Contrast/Gamma Shift on Export, even when not using QT
hi there,
this problem has been bane of existence since doing video work on mac. (ppro cs5, mac os x 10.6.8) so, whenever export project, regardless of container or codec, there measurable contrast/gamma shift in video file.
i aware of dreaded "quicktime gamma bug" , i've spent lot of time researching "solutions" (x264 encoder, etc.) - none of them have worked. containers or codecs file closer to looks in ppro, not identical. when these files uploaded youtube/vimeo , view on pc, problem noticeable. footage looks stop or 2 darker, huge loss in contrast. notice more grade footage, bigger problem once uploaded online (footage left pretty alone stays relatively close original). have calibrated mac's monitor several times, , confirmed display gamma set 2.2. should mention problem doesn't exist when editing on home pc, on work mac.
again, i've done lot of research quicktime gamma bug, , don't think it's that. (my recent project exported flv vp6 codec - when uploaded youtube , viewed on pc, still had same issue.) so, have ideas on solving issue? or should toss work mac out window , pc? tips appreciated!
nothing? ideas @ all?
