Crashes when click on .MOV files

photoshop elements crashes whenever click on .mov file.  tried power cycling of computer, reconnect files, repair catalog, uninstall/reinstall, deleting , reimporting files, , no results. .mov files taken on different cameras different audio , video codecs.  play on quicktime movie viewer, , can imported pre8.  mp4, .wmv, .avi , .mpg play fine.  suggestions?   use pc windows vista 32 bit, intel dual core 2.2 ghz processor, , 3gb ram.

i looking through old discussion threads (over 5 yrs old), , 1 suggestion close properties window first.  worked!  why worked never know.  files continue open after reopening properties window.

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings.
