hello all,

can add directory $path temporarily. add directory $path permanently. reading trying figure out. think need edit either ~/.bashrc or .profile cant open gedit. , there no ~/.bash_profile other sites suggest edit.

add temperaly i..
>path=$path:/home/username/programname/bin/

yes, right, ~/.bashrc correct file use. , shouldn't have problems opening gedit, did try when weren't able that?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
