Thread: 11.10 Live CD works but installed has low resolution
i have old laptop (from 2004) i'm trying install ubuntu 11.10 on. when run live cd, display works correctly (1024x768). after installing, when boot hard drive, display goes 640x480, using part of laptop screen. (nothing connected external vga port.)
not sure if relevant: unable install live cd (it hang), installed 11.10 alt cd.
there way x settings live cd using , force installed os use it?

is there xorg.conf forces low resolution? livecd configured automatically determine correct screen resolution when x starts, there no xorg.conf on livecd.
