Thread: Car PC Xorg Configuration Help Needed

hi working on car pc project @ moment, connecting acer aspire 1 netbook (aao) car's navigation screen.(navi) done using car's electronics , vga composite converter use vga output aao appear on navi screen.

navi screen has native resolution of 400x234(240)

running xubuntu 11.10 on aao , automagically detects navi screen "monitor" , display @ 640x480 @ 59 hz, display not in car display, doesn't fit navi screen , isn't bright. ( thinking best might achieve 800x480?)

advent of "no xorg.conf" setup in xubuntu in last few revisions have lost touch 1 has in order set xorg.conf specific resolutions specific monitors.

have grandr installed , offers 848 x 400 , 800 x 600 , 1024 x 768 none of these seem quite right?

can please give me few pointers how go setting xorg configuration navi screen?

i using ubuntu desktop on lucid , keyboard changes british keys american keys, #/£, ~/| , "/@ around. in system->preferences->keyboard menu have set keyboard uk. when log via putty uk keys come out right. there other place more configuration required? /vfclistsguy actually settings should enough.. can try setxkbmap -query see current layout settings. how do I change the e-mail address for my merchant account
