Thread: Hover Click Problems in Ubuntu 11.04

i'm having trouble hover click function in ubuntu 11.04. go mouse settings dialog , select "initiate click when stopping pointer movement" on accessibility tab. i've selected "choose type of click beforehand," , "show click type window." click close on dialog box , attempt hover on button. nothing happens. additionally, click type window not appear. i've tried hovering on multiple types of objects no results. i've tried using ubuntu classic instead of unity. hover click doesn't work there either.




i'm running ubuntu 11.04 on asus eee pc netbook. obviously, i'm interested in solution problem, i'd know whether it's known issue repeat on computer. considering putting ubuntu 11.04 on main computer, , i'd know whether hover click cause me problems there, too. thanks!

i've solved own problem. don't understand why, following procedure worked me:
-login using ubuntu classic
-go system menu. select preferences, assistive technologies.
-in assistive technologies preferences window, select "enable assistive technologies" , click on "mouse accessibility."
-in mouse preferences window, select accessibility tab. check box "initiate click when stopping pointer movement."
-close windows , return desktop. right click on gray panel @ top of screen , select "add panel..." select dwell click applet list.
-the dwell clicker should functional. hover on mouse icon on panel applet enable/disable it.
-it possible login using unity, , dwell clicker still works, applet not displayed. additionally, if close click selection window, have no way of choosing click type.
i'm pretty satisfied solution (as long stick ubuntu classic), , did go ahead , put 11.04 on main computer.

i'm experiencing 1 other problem. sometimes, when boot computer, dwell clicker doesn't work. applet there, no click generated when dwell. can fix problem opening accessibility settings , toggling check box "initiate click when stopping pointer movement," takes decent bit of mousing , clicking, hard me. know why happening or how might prevented?
